About 20 years ago, I first heard something about the Swiss rockabilly institution THE PEACOCK. Even though rockabilly isn't exactly my everyday music, I enjoyed their albums "Touch and Go," "Gimme More," "After All," and "Don't Ask" in the following years, partly because many songs had a certain punk rock charm.
However, I hadn't heard anything from the Swiss band for over 10 years, so I actually assumed that the band had ascended to rock heaven like many others. I was all the more surprised that there is a new album from the Swiss called "and now what?" and as if the >10 years hadn't passed, it continues just like before.
With "Nowhere" and "Stop," there are also singles, but my favorite songs are "Twisted," which you can already sing along to by the second listen. However, the song is more punk rock than rockabilly. "Brand new" starts with a drum intro reminiscent of "ACAB" by SLIME, but then it turns into great rockabilly. Or "It's always only just one more," a beautiful ballad.
"Anti" also gets you moving on the dance floor, and after 38 minutes, the album ends abruptly with the twelfth song "Hahaha." I like it!
