CONTROL “GRAY“.
Without knowing what it is, these are two words that describe this and many other countries very accurately, albeit abstractly. Everywhere there is control and far too many gray walls. Control over gray walls, just not making them colorful and filling them with life.

Gray is the color of your suit.
Gray is the color of your cell wall.
Gray is the color of the whole prison.
Gray is the color of every new day.
Gray is probably the most hated color.
CONTROL, from Solingen and Düsseldorf, are releasing their third album “Gray”.
The band could have existed for 40 years with their sound. The gloomy wave, paired with a cold industrial sound, sounds like the sound of many bands that tried exactly that 40 years ago but never succeeded due to a lack of technology or skill.
Here comes a perfect cold wave industrial sound from the speakers. It is interesting that such a sound is making a comeback. CONTROL are not the first band to dedicate themselves to this sound. Is it due to the changes in society, the colder the society, the colder the sound?
Lyrically, the band also puts in a lot of effort to make statements clear.
Sometimes I find it a bit too fragmented, but on the other hand, there are few bands in this kind of sound that sing lengthy lyrics. So, it’s fine.
The whole thing is heavily produced. Sometimes a bit too heavy for me; perhaps with a little less volume, especially in the synth and bass, the songs could have been defined a bit clearer. It’s a matter of taste.
For me, CONTROL is a band that has revived a sound that has long led an underestimated existence.
CONTROL, cold, razor-sharp...hitting deep in the gut.
