As already announced, STOMPER 98 will release their new self-titled album on 01.09. after 5 years and in celebration of their 25th band anniversary via the newly founded, band-owned label S98 Records (distribution: Tonpool)

The band explains: "What is better: to conform to a sick society or to be "different"?
Many people struggle with prejudices. Time and again, one has to explain oneself or tries to please others. It should be possible to accept someone as one wants to be accepted oneself. People tend to project their life concepts onto others. They do not realize how constraining that can be. "Außenseiter" is not a condemnation for Stomper 98; it is a term for one's own freedom. To live as one's own needs demand, without pretending. "Live and let live", often quoted yet for many just a phrase. For the band, it is a principle that makes it possible to find one's place and to be happy in the process."
On the 7th album, fast, hard songs alternate with pounding mid-tempo tracks. Bands like The Clash, Ruts, Bad Religion, or Rancid (guitarist Lars Frederiksen has been a permanent member of Stomper 98 since the last album) come to mind, bands that may have left their mark on the musical socialization of certain songs. Lyrically, the band is broader than ever before in their career. Deep explorations of transience and loss run like a red thread through the album.
"Just before the recordings for the new album "Stomper 98", there was a severe setback for the band. Singer Sebi suffered a serious work accident, and his foot was crushed by a forklift. The band was in the demo recordings for the current album, and this shock had to be processed first. The doctors' diagnosis was devastating; no one knew if he could keep his foot. After several operations, a positive prognosis could be given. However, the planning for 2023 had to be realigned. The recordings for the new album began at the end of November 2022, and the band worked diligently and purposefully. Emotionally and physically, it was a balancing act and a ride on a razor's edge, as it would take until March for Sebi to be able to walk and stand again. Rehabilitation, sports, and a lot of willpower were needed to then start the vocal recordings.
Each band member intensely rehearsed the album written by guitarist Tommi Tox and gave everything possible in advance and in the studio."
Stomper 98 recently played as support for the BROILERS and will go on a 25th anniversary tour in the fall after the "Spirit From the Streets" festival in August:
