Music knows no boundaries. Music can be everywhere. Music can be addictive, but usually it is an addiction without harmful side effects, often with great healing power.
The song Turn It Up is the first single from the album of the same name by the band MACSAT. With its driving distorted guitars in the chorus and the groovy offbeat rhythm in the verses, this song represents the band's wide musical range. Lyrically, it is about the love for music and the enormous power it can generate. With guest vocals from Geoff Lagadec (Jaya The Cat) in the second verse, the paths of long-time friends cross once again. Not only because of the joint Jaya The Cat / MACSAT split 10“ from 2018, but especially because MACSAT singer Claas has already (re)released several albums by Jaya The Cat on his label Ring Of Fire Records. The following guitar solo comes from Karl Smith. He was recently the guitarist for Jaya The Cat but has now fully transitioned to The Bar Stool Preachers. The vocals in the C-part come from the wonderful Brenna Red (The Last Gang). With her unmistakable voice, she provides the crowning conclusion to the song. A feel-good sing-along song about and for one of the most beautiful things in life - music!
