The Swiss trio Velvet Two Stripes will release their fourth album "No Spell For Moving Water" this autumn. The three musicians deliver raw guitar rock built on a bluesy and punk foundation, while surprising with new pop facets. Today, the first track from the album, "The One," is being released.
It is a catchy yet eerie song about Sophie Diggelmann's first sleep paralysis. The driving guitars and bass take you on a wild ride, while the voice delves deeper into the dream, not from the perspective of the dreamer, but from the perspective of the nightmare. It is a song about longings and conflicts. It’s about letting go of fear instead of holding onto it.
