JERA ON AIR 2023
ANOTHER WAVE OF BANDS FOR THE HIGHLIGHT IN JUNE!
FRANK TURNER & THE SLEEPING SOULS, CASEY, HEIDEROOSJES, CARPENTER BRUT, BLACK FLAG AND MORE ARE ON BOARD
This year's poster for JERA ON AIR is taking shape. Among others, Heideroosjes, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, Carpenter Brut, and Black Flag are being added to the list of bands that promise to make the 29th edition of the festival unforgettable. Additionally, the already impressive line-up has been enhanced with highlights such as Anti-Flag, Cancer Bats, Casey, de Hardheid, Arson, Captain Kaiser, Chaser, Punk Rock Factory, and Static Dress!
JERA ON AIR, the largest alternative festival in the Benelux countries, will feature Parkway Drive, Rancid, and The Ghost Inside on stage this year.
For Heideroosjes, June 24 will be a special home game. The punk legends from Horst have decided to play only one Dutch festival this summer. They have chosen their great love: Jera On Air. The punk band led by singer Marco Roelofs will perform all the classics from their rich repertoire in their own backyard, where they have often played before.
The acoustic guitar is unmistakably the driving force behind Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls. Frontman Frank Turner, former lead singer of the punk rock band Million Dead, has dedicated himself to a musical style that comes closest to folk after their breakup. A new direction that he has been celebrating success after success with for over fifteen years. With the support of his band 'The Sleeping Souls', Turner has transformed into an award-winning singer-songwriter. In 2022, his latest work FTHC was praised by international critics.
As one of the highlights on the Jera On Air 2023 poster, Rancid is tried and true in the punk rock scene. This is certainly also true for their compatriots, the legendary Black Flag. The American punk band was formed in 1976. Although the band's lineup has changed over the years, guitarist Greg Ginn remained. After a long silence, the band released a new studio album in 2013. Since then, Black Flag has been back. This will be proven at the end of June in Ysselsteyn.
Never before has a synthwave band performed at Jera On Air. Therefore, a well-deserved spot is now being created for the founders of the genre. The illustrious group Carpenter Brut created a unique sound thanks to a shared interest in TV shows from the eighties and soundtracks from B-movies of the past. The sonic connection? The unmistakable sound of the synthesizer. Carpenter Brut has a penchant for kitschy sounds and vintage instruments with a large dose of electro and metal. This results in a unique and slightly bizarre sound that is sure to impress.
Tickets for the three-day festival, which will take place on the new festival grounds as it did last year, can be purchased at www.jeraonair.nl. There, you can find information about the complete line-up as well as all available facilities.
