FLOGGING MOLLY
RELEASE 'Til The Anarchy's Restored
EP ON MARCH 10 VIA RISE RECORDS
EP INCLUDES A PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED TITLE TRACK AND LIVE PERFORMANCES FROM STEVE ALBINI'S ELECTRICAL AUDIO STUDIO
TOUR DATES FOR GERMANY ANNOUNCED
Flogging Molly, who recently released their seventh album Anthem, a rough affair where the Celtic punk band reunited with Swagger and Drunken Lullabies engineer Steve Albini, have announced the release of the 'Til The Anarchy's Restored EP (Rise Records) for March 10.
The EP features the new single 'Til The Anarchy's Restored as well as two live performances of the Flogging Molly classics 'Drunken Lullabies' and 'What's Left of the Flag'. Both songs originally appeared on the 2002 album Drunken Lullabies and were recorded with Albini in one take during the Anthem sessions.
"In a world that seems more divided than ever, this song feels more like a letter to a neighbor or friend, renewing relationships that seem lost or gone," explains Dave King. "Maybe it's time to say hello again."
Flogging Molly also recently announced a European tour in late spring, which includes several festival appearances as part of the month-long tour, including performances at Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park.
With a five-year gap between albums, expectations for Anthem were high, as the band delivered a thoroughly exuberant and heartfelt collection. Brooklyn Vegan said Anthem is "a banger", New Noise stated that Anthem "effortlessly meets the expectations that the Celtic-inspired punks have built over their decades-long career", and American Songwriter triumphantly declared: "Flogging Molly is back." The band has released four videos in support of Anthem, including the timely track and clip for 'A Song of Liberty', which comes from King's pen and tells of a dark period in Irish history, but has become even more relevant due to the events in Ukraine.
