Today, the new ILLEGALE FARBEN single "Standpunkt der Verlierer" was released, a part of the new EP "Zwischenzeit", which will be released on February 3, 2023, via Rookie/ The Orchard.

Time is relative - this is not a new insight, but it has never been as palpable as it is now. Tormenting and seemingly endless time, e.g., in quarantine, against the rapid progression of world history with developments that were long unimaginable. Illegale Farben released their third album “unbedeutend ungenau” in 2021 - right in the middle of the pandemic. Despite adverse circumstances, the vinyl was sold out even before the release date. Now it is 2023, and there is another loud follow-up to “unbedeutend ungenau”. With “Standpunkt der Verlierer”, the angriest song from “unbedeutend ungenau” is being released as a single. It is a reflection on injustices, privileges, and standing up for marginalized groups to which one does not belong but understands oneself as an ally. Unfortunately, the finding from the lyrics “Wie sie auf die schwächsten Schwachen hauen, durch Europa geht das dunkelste Versprechen” is still highly relevant. The absolute minimum requirement that remains in the end is the demand for empathy.
On February 3, 2023, the - delayed - but unique live premiere will take place at Blue Shell in Cologne: Illegale Farben will perform “unbedeutend ungenau”. There will be an exhibition of the artwork by Chris Mock, a multimedia installation, and musical friends like PICARD3000, Seefeld, and Tulips will accompany the evening. At the center is the film by Illegale Farben and the artist Ines Rehberger, which expands the album with a visual component. On this occasion, the “Zwischenraum EP” will also be released. In addition to “Standpunkt der Verlierer”, there is the title track of the 3rd album as a single version and a spoken-word sound collage titled “Zwischenzeit”. Especially “Zwischenzeit” serves as a bonus to the album. The text is by N. Cyril Fischer and was previously only printed in the album booklet; fragments of the text also appeared in the “Zwischenräumen” of “unbedeutend ungenau”. The “Zwischenzeit EP” marks the official conclusion and farewell to “unbedeutend ungenau”; Illegale Farben are already on their way to new destinations.
