The best thing to do in this situation is either to head to the nearest Irish pub to harmonize belly and brain with plenty of stout and whiskey – or to put on the new Fiddler’s Green album and embark on an acoustic journey to cozy, rugged, Christmasy Ireland.
On “Seven Holy Nights,” nearly all the classics of English-language Christmas songs can be found. From “White Christmas” to “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer” to “12 Days Of Christmas,” a whiskey-infused Christmas atmosphere is guaranteed! Songs like “Danny Boy” or “Mull Of Kintyre” also fit perfectly into the musical mulled wine escape.
That Fiddler’s Green is also quite capable of writing Christmas songs with classic qualities is demonstrated by “7 Holy Nights,” the title track penned by themselves. With a wink, it describes the very extravagant Christmas celebration at the Fiddler’s Green household – or so one might think.
For all those who prefer to spend their Christmas Eve in a pub rather than with Aunt Erna or Uncle Willi under the eternally outdated Christmas tree, this masterpiece is an absolute must!
The band will also spread their speedfolk in German halls and clubs this year. Starting in October, not only will the last anniversary shows in Bremen, Nuremberg, and Munich be made up for, but FIDDLERS GREEN will also come to some selected cities where they unfortunately could not perform in 2020/21 due to the known circumstances.
