The legendary singer Jimmy Hall announces the release of his new album Ready Now - his first new solo album with original material since 2007. The first single and title track "Jumpin' For Joy" was released on July 27, 2022.
Jimmy Hall first gained fame as the lead singer, saxophonist, and harmonica player of the band Wet Willie from Mobile (Alabama). His unique, R&B-influenced rock 'n' roll and stage presence helped the group's song “Keep on Smilin'“ reach the Top 10 of the Billboard Singles Chart in 1974.
After seven albums with Capricorn Records, Wet Willie moved to Epic Records and released the singles “Street Corner Serenade” and “Weekend”. Both singles reached the US Top 40 and five other songs were placed in the Billboard Top 100.
Joe Bonamassa and Josh Smith produced an album with Jimmy that is packed with unforgettable songs and performances. Ready Now is an important statement in a career full of highlights that dates back to Jimmy's work with the legendary Southern Rock Band Wet Willie. Jimmy's singing, harmonica playing, and songwriting have never been stronger and more focused than on this album, which will surely continue to shape his career.
Supported by a top-notch band that includes Joe Bonamassa, Josh Smith, the legendary keyboardist Reese Wynans, bassist Michael Rhodes, and drummer Greg Morrow, Hall can fully concentrate on the songs and performances. This is especially true for the song “Dream Release,” which he wrote with his son Ryan Hall about his lifelong friendship with Gregg Allman.
Joe Bonamassa co-wrote five songs on the new album and plays unforgettable guitar solos on “Jumpin’ For Joy”, “Risin’ Up”, “Holding On For Dear Love”, “A Long Goodbye” and “Will You Still Be There”.
Co-producer Josh Smith also plays an exquisite guitar solo on the song “Girl’s Got Sugar”.
The album also features special guest appearances by legendary guitarists Warren Haynes and Jared James Nichols. Haynes plays a slide guitar solo on the title track “Ready Now”.
"READY NOW" will be released on September 16, 2022 via KTBA Records

The first release on the label was Dion's album "Blues with Friends", which was released in June 2020 to great critical acclaim. In February 2021, KTBA Records released Joanna Connor's album "4801 South Indiana Avenue", which received enthusiastic reviews worldwide. Both albums debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Blues Charts and solidified the label as an amazing platform for artists to expand their artistic efforts.
