Ten Years of 4 Promille is Enough

Ten years after the expansion to a complete band, singer Tommes announced today on their homepage the dissolution of 4 Promille. Since two unnamed members want to leave the band, this is now the logical way forward. The reasons are personal, but the split is not contentious. The Oi band was never uncontroversial, mainly due to former Störkraft guitarist Volker Grüner, who after several years of 4 Promille as a solo project gathered more musicians around him in 1997. Although he distanced himself clearly from his dark past, this often provided material for controversial discussions about the political orientation. Whether there will be a final tour or other farewell gifts seems to be uncertain. One thing is clear, however: the desire to continue with other bands remains unbroken.
