In less than a month, the new album by The Flatliners, "New Ruin", will be released. After the video for "Performative Hours“ directed by Mitch Barnes, which revolves around the chaotic character of TV host Ron Regal, we were subsequently treated to probably the catchiest THE FLATLINERS song in ages, namely “Souvenir”.
The accompanying clip picked up the visually spun thread again and leads us to the video for the third single “Rat King“, which now allows us to piece together the story of Ron Regal.
Vocalist/Guitarist Chris Cresswell explains: "Connected through the tragedy of losing their friend and TV legend, the crew you’ve come to know and love in the last two videos makes a shocking discovery on their big night." What can we say? Rats are just hard to eradicate.
Some things simply deserve to burn. Abuse of power and the resulting division should have no place in our world anymore. And yet, all of this still happens, often in secret. Despite the many advances made to bring people together, to learn from each other's differences, and to create a more positive world from those conversations, there are always those who prefer to take two steps back and anchor us in the past. The tails of hatred intertwine again and again, causing quite a mess. Only together can we stand against the ignorance and arrogance of the rat king.
