Party for the farewell, the eroticism of decay – ecstasy, downfall, in the face of the big bang“
With the third advance single, the Düsseldorfer band Sinnfrei presents the title track from the album “Erotik Des Zerfalls”, and accordingly cranks the theme up to the max.
Lyrically, the song deals with the feeling of powerlessness in a resigned and cynical manner - in the face of war, climate change, idiocy through conspiracy theories, racism, nationalism, the consequences of turbo-capitalism, etc. – being unable to stop the downfall of civilization, no matter what one tries. Instead, it suggests throwing oneself into the last, ultimate party before riding laughing into the downfall, true to the motto: If we must go down, then let’s do it with flying colors.
Cheerful offbeats were not suitable this time, so the song develops on a prominent guitar riff, supported by lively bass and drumming that leads into the verses, where the vocals take over from the guitar and blend into the rolling rhythm. In stark contrast to this is the chorus, which settles into the ears with a broken beat and a sharply placed bass line – guitar and brass section elevate the vocals to the maximum.
Sinnfrei combines elements of punk and rock’n’roll into an exhilarating song that rightfully earns the title of title track, with at least the following line being heavily emphasized:
“You just have to party as hard as you fall”
