"I am really proud of this song. I wanted to steer my songwriting in a more personal, narrative direction. Once the background with the sugary sweet chorus was established, I felt that I could bring in color and create contrasts with scenes from my daily life, including the (unfortunately true) August morning when I woke up and found a stranger's poop next to my car door."
