"Hybrid Theory" is the best-selling debut album of the 21st century. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, this milestone in music history will be re-released on October 9, 2020, in various configurations with numerous unreleased songs and rarities.

Linkin Park's debut album captivated, shaped, and shook an entire generation. "Hybrid Theory" set a new course for music with its combination of powerful alternative rock, hip-hop, and electronic influences. "Hybrid Theory" was the best-selling album of 2001 in the USA, selling 11 million copies there, which earned the band the rare “Diamond” award (10 million). Internationally, the album sold 25 million copies and has achieved triple platinum status in Germany alone.
By now, "Hybrid Theory", the best-selling debut of the 21st century, is naturally the centerpiece of the reissue, which includes previously unheard demos from that time, rarities, B-sides, DVDs, over 95 minutes of never-before-seen footage, and other extras. In light of this special edition, Linkin Park called on long-time fans around the world to contribute and share art, photos, and memories from the band's earliest days. The reissue will be available in several configurations, including a Super Deluxe Box, vinyl box set, deluxe CD, and digital. This will also be the very first Hybrid Theory box set. To celebrate the news, the band has also shared the long-requested 1999 demo of "She Couldn’t".

The Limited Edition "Super Deluxe Box" consists of five CDs – the original "Hybrid Theory", the internationally platinum-certified remix album "Reanimation", "B-Side Rarities" featuring 12 previously released tracks from the album era, "LPU Rarities" with 18 tracks that circulated in the "Linkin Park Underground (LPU)" fan club, and "Forgotten Demos" with 12 previously unreleased tracks, including "She Couldn’t".
Additionally, the "Super Deluxe Box" includes three DVDs, including a direct copy of the original "Frat Party At The Pankake Festival", "Projekt Revolution 2002", which contains an hour of previously unseen live material from Las Vegas and San Diego (plus the 45-minute continuation of "Frat Party At The Pankake Festival", titled "The Sequel To The Worst Name We’ve Ever Come Up With" featuring previously unavailable backstage footage and interviews), as well as another LIVE DVD with complete concerts from The Fillmore 2001 in San Francisco and Rock am Ring 2001 in Germany. There are also four vinyl LPs: the original "Hybrid Theory" (1 LP), "Reanimation" (2 LP), and – available on vinyl for the first time – the "Hybrid Theory EP", a 6-track LP with etching on side 2. In addition to the original Street Team 2-track cassette, fans can also look forward to a stunning 80-page illustrated book featuring contributions from band members, previously unseen photographs, a replica of a laminated tour pass, and an XXL poster of the late singer Chester Bennington. The box is rounded off with three lithographs of the new artwork contributed by Mike Shinoda, Joe Hahn, and Frank Maddocks, the art director of the original album as well as this anniversary edition.
The "Hybrid Theory Vinyl Box Set" consists of the original "Hybrid Theory" (1 LP) and "Reanimation" (2 LP) as well as the "B-Side Rarities" (1 LP). This will be the only format with a vinyl of B-Side Rarities. The "Deluxe CD" includes the original "Hybrid Theory" and "B-Side Rarities" with a 16-page booklet.
