In October 2019, Sebastian "Sushi" Biesler (ex-Eskimo Callboy) picked up a guitar and wrote a song. It sounds unremarkable, but it was the beginning of a new, adventurous musical chapter in the musician's career. For with this first song, the story of Ghøstkid began. And now, a good ten months later, with the release of "Start A Fight," the first Ghøstkid single, it is absolutely clear that Sushi had no choice but to start Ghøstkid and release this new music."Start A Fight" begins as a musical assault and evolves into an extremely multifaceted and captivating modern metal song. A brutal piece of music with sung interludes that only emphasize the next screaming attack even more vividly. Despite its immense energy, "Start A Fight" is, with its precisely balanced melodic arcs, catchy to the core. You can feel and hear that it was a deep concern for Sushi to make this music, that he simply had to create it.
"From the very beginning, I followed my heart in this endeavor," says Sushi. "It just felt right to do it this way." At that time, Sushi was listening to Marilyn Manson, Fever 333, and Bring Me The Horizon, and from this inspiration, a forward-looking rock music emerged that combines darkness, aggression, and rebelliousness with pop affinity as well as influences from nu-metal, trap, industrial, and rock.

Sushi's new artistic vision has thus come to fruition with Ghøstkid. For months, he first worked alone at home, later with various producers like Phil Sunday (Saint Chaos) on the pre-production and development, always pursuing a holistic approach – the visual-conceptual aspect was to be considered from the very beginning, which is why there was a name relatively early on. The first Ghøstkid album and thus also "Start A Fight" was ultimately produced together with Sky van Hoff (Rammstein, Emigrate, among others).
"I have always maintained control and managed everything at all stages," says Sushi about his solo project Ghøstkid. "I learned a lot about myself during this production. When you do things alone, you tend to overthink everything, and music can indeed hurt."
It’s about a situation that everyone knows: When you keep running into walls, you eventually need a vent, otherwise, you end up with a bloody head. You can now get that with "Start A Fight" in a completely different, namely the most pleasant way.
The debut album by Ghøstkid will be released on November 13, 2020 via Century Media.
