After more than 25 years as a band, diverse experimentation with acoustic chemicals, distorted operations, and ongoing vivisection that have pushed the sound of Mother Tongue to its psychological, emotional, and physical limits, the four musicians from Los Angeles are returning with their blend of blues, funk, groove, and rock for headlining shows in Germany and Austria.
After numerous sold-out club shows, international festival headliner slots, and intense "over-the-top" live performances, Mother Tongue has built a loyal fanbase across Europe. With their energetic and passionate performances, the band has gained undeniable respect and recognition as one of the most exciting live bands on the planet.
During the 2004 Europe tour, the band sold out their entire inventory of the self-produced and financed EP "Now or Never." It was their first tour as a completely independent, free band and a great success. This was followed by more tours, including a co-headliner tour with 'The Cooper Temple Clause'. In spring 2008, Mother Tongue released their fourth studio album "Follow the Trail." The band found their missing link and like-minded companion in producer/engineer/mixer Noah Shain (Orson, Endless Hallway). After several suggestions from former 'Journey' frontman Steve Perry, a first meeting took place. A connection was found immediately, and with a shared passion, an album was to be created that would not compromise. Mother Tongue is convinced they have fulfilled this vision.
Their tour for the 20th band anniversary in 2010 became an almost completely sold-out triumph and ended with unforgettable shows of up to 3 hours. After nearly 6 years of absence, fans can finally look forward to sweat-inducing shows again in July, where the band will perform a selection of all their hits.
