Kat Edmonson is coming out with her third album "The Big Picture“
The new album by Kat Edmonson, "The Big Picture", was recorded by the multiple Grammy-nominated producer Mitchell Froom (who has worked with Paul McCartney among others) in his studio in Los Angeles. Kat Edmonson says about her album: "The songs do not revolve around a specific theme, but there are some commonalities, including the ever-present influence of feature films and film music on me. I have always felt that music and film go hand in hand, as it was old movies and musicals that sparked my interest in music, and for me, dancing and singing are just as much a part of acting as performing itself.”

The new album follows the 2012 CD "Way Down Low". The New York Times compared the program to a colorful spring bouquet, and The Boston Globe referred to it as "one of the most beautiful vocal albums in a long time“. The record immediately reached number 1 in the Heatseekers Album Charts of Billboard magazine and made it onto several year-end lists in 2012, including Downbeat Magazine, "Best Live Performances“ by WNYC Soundcheck, and "Best Sessions of 2012“ by Daytrotter. Additionally, the singer toured with renowned artists such as Chris Isaak, Gary Clark Jr., and Michael Kiwanuka.
"The Big Picture" was released on January 16, 2015, on Masterworks by Sony Music.
