Cottbus could enjoy an extraordinary concert next spring. Football goalkeeper Georg Koch wants to bring the band to the promotion celebration of Energie in Lusatia.
Georg Koch has promised the fans of the second division football club Energie Cottbus a very special gift. If the club manages to return to the Bundesliga, the former Düsseldorfer wants to bring Die Toten Hosen for a concert at the Stadion der Freundschaft.
Goalkeeper Koch joined the Lusatian team at the beginning of the season. From 1991 to 1997, he played 179 matches for the traditional club Fortuna Düsseldorf. Hosen singer Campino is not only known as a big football fan but also supports Fortuna Düsseldorf financially.
"Anyone who plays for Düsseldorf becomes a fan of Die Toten Hosen. I am very good friends with the guys, we talk regularly. If we get promoted, I will do everything I can to bring them to Cottbus for the Energie fans," Koch said in Bild-Zeitung. He has become at home in Lusatia. "I just think the city and the surrounding area are great," said Koch, who wants to thank the Cottbus fans with his idea.
Of course, the prerequisite for the spectacle is the promotion. But for the Cottbus team, things are looking very good halfway through the season. The Bundesliga relegant is currently in second place in the table behind Rot-Weiß Oberhausen.
