DAVID BOWIE "Nothing Has Changed" - the artwork
Single "Sue (Or In A Season Of Crime)" will be released in a limited edition as 10" vinyl and for download on November 14!
The definitive BOWIE collection "Nothing Has Changed" will be released on the same date as 3CD, 2CD, double vinyl album, and digital download, each with its own artwork!
For the first time, there is a definitive BOWIE song collection that spans the years from 1964 to 2014. The 3CD deluxe edition of "Nothing Has Changed" contains nearly 60 songs and features the single "Sue (Or In A Season Of Crime)", a brand new BOWIE song that will be released on November 14 via Parlophone!
"Sue" was recorded this summer with the Maria Schneider Orchestra and produced by BOWIE himself and his long-time partner Tony Visconti. Maria Schneider, who also arranged the song, is the bandleader of one of the best big bands in the USA and has won several Grammys. On "Sue (Or In A Season Of Crime)", Donny McCaslin is featured as the solo tenor saxophonist and Ryan Keberle as the solo trombonist. BOWIE wrote the lyrics for Sue and closely collaborated with Maria Schneider on the composition of the music.
The artwork for the major compilation "Nothing Has Changed" comes from Jonathan Barnbrook, who also designed the cover art for the albums "The Next Day", "Heathen", and "Reality". Each format – 3CD, 2CD, double vinyl, and download – is equipped with its own visual style. Barnbrook: "Each format has a different image. The connecting motif is a photo of Bowie looking into a mirror. I was looking for a motif strong enough to be an 'archetype'. It should create an instantly recognizable connection that makes it clear that "Nothing Has Changed" is a collection of songs reflecting the experiences of a whole life of a person – thus much more than a specific concept or just a certain time period, as most other albums do.”
"Nothing Has Changed" is the largest and most comprehensive collection of BOWIE songs ever released. It includes both previously unreleased material and songs that appear on CD for the first time.
"Let Me Sleep Beside You" was first released in 1970 on the album "The World Of David Bowie". In 2000, it was re-recorded for the unreleased album "Toy" and disappeared into the archive until "Nothing Has Changed".
"Shadow Man" is a legendary but previously unreleased outtake from 1971. The version on "Nothing Has Changed" was also re-recorded for "Toy". The re-recording was released as a B-side in the early 2000s but was withdrawn shortly thereafter.
"Love Is Lost (Hello Steve Reich Mix By James Murphy For The DFA Edit)" is an edited version of the critically acclaimed remix by James Murphy, which now appears on CD for the first time.
"Your Turn To Drive" is also available on CD for the first time. Originally, the song was offered as a free download for the online pre-order of the album "Reality".
"Wild Is The Wind (2010 Harry Maslin Mix)" was previously only available on the audio DVD of the "Station To Station Deluxe Set". On "Nothing Has Changed", the mix makes its CD debut.
"Young Americans (2007 Tony Visconti Mix Single Edit)". The unedited version of the song was included as a 5.1 mix exclusively with the "Young Americans Special Edition CD/DVD". This single edit has remained unreleased until now.
"All The Young Dudes" – a previously unreleased stereo mix of BOWIE's own version of the song, which was a huge hit for Mott The Hoople.
"Life On Mars? (2003 Ken Scott Mix)". This version has only been available on the "40th Anniversary 7-Inch Picture Disc". Here it is available on CD for the first time.
As part of the highly successful exhibition David Bowie Is, which was shown at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and later admired at the Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin, a film of the same title was made, which will soon be released in cinemas worldwide. The documentary was filmed at the closing event at the Victoria & Albert Museum and will be distributed by Omniverse Vision. It was directed by Hamish Hamilton, a BAFTA winner and chairman of the Academy Awards as well as the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
