Rumors of their demise have been greatly exaggerated!
This applies to the old-fashioned medium of vinyl as well as to the LOST LYRICS, our charming representatives of German-speaking punk rock, who, just like the round discs from our fathers' world, have never been out of sight, but after digital detours (a download-only EP three years ago) are now presenting new songs and this time are having fun in an analog way!
It's crackling again!
In and between 10 songs that the North Hessians are releasing into the world, there is a crackle of joy in playing, pressure, and tempo, paired with melodies. The tonearm lowers, and the fans are once again hanging on the healthy needle:
The Lost Lyrics play brisk and rocking punk rock with German lyrics, which should not be confused with "Deutschpunk." In their 24th year of existence, instead of flat slogans, one hears intelligent and sometimes ironic lyrics that are as current as an online magazine yet timelessly analog.
The sound of the digital age...
...is spinning on the turntable. In this main course, songs like "Pay to Play" (We live at the expense of others whom we gladly let pay and watch as they drown in the Mediterranean) are just as digestible as "Farben" (It describes how a depression takes hold of someone). Added to this are ingredients like a love song (“Papier in Feuer”), the combative “Aufrecht gehen” (A call to stand tall and resist), or spices like “Stromgitarrenwelt,” the answer to why this is the most livable (parallel) world – as long as there is a power outlet.
The record kitchen...
...is in Kassel, the city where their anthem “Hessen Nord” is played in the stadium. The studio of the media forge KS has once again forged the rich, powerful sound, and the label Hulk Räckorz from Voerde ensures this time that moving with record boxes does not get any easier – and with a driver-friendly CD insert (not available separately), it even ensures that you don’t have to press the stylish discs into the player and that the records on the shelf don’t turn into lampshades in the summer. More service is not possible.
