The two Hamburg ska-punk bands Skatoons and No Life Lost will embark on an alternative World Cup festival tour from June 16 to July 1. No Life Lost has already made a name for themselves with various football ska anthems. Just in time for the tour, their new single featuring the anti-World Cup song "Spielverderber" will also be released.
Tour dates:
16.06. - Berlin- Thommy-Weissbecker-Haus (+ Minni The Moocher)
17.06. - Lübeck- Treibsand
18.06. - Hamburg- Altonale (only No Life Lost)
30.06. - Elmshorn- Gleis 4
01.07. - Aurich- Schlachthof
The British punk rockers Peter & The Test Tube Babies are also releasing a World Cup song. They managed to enlist Campino from Die Toten Hosen and Olga from Toy Dolls as guest vocalists. The piece is called "Smiling Through The Tears" and will be released alongside a bonus video on June 2 on the re-release album by Peter & The Test Tube Babies titled "For a few bullets more" via Locomotive Records / Soulfood Music.
At the address http://www.punkrock-tippspiel.de, a Bundesliga prediction round has been running for some time now. This is, of course, also fully focused on the World Cup. For the best predictors, there are even shopping vouchers, CDs, and other merchandise items to win as incentives.
To not be completely overwhelmed by the football frenzy, those uninterested in football can only hope for July 9, when the calamity will finally be whistled for the last time and hopefully disappear quickly from minds, stores, and also from music.
