Manowar announced today via Facebook that they will not be performing at the Legacy Open Air. The reason for the cancellation is the unfortunate issue of money.
“We regret that this performance had to be canceled,” stated MANOWAR’s management.
“We worked extremely hard to save this performance, but the festival organizer was unable to meet their financial obligations, jeopardizing our performance, our fans, and the suppliers of this production. The “Kings Of Metal MMXIV” world tour is a massive production, specifically designed for outdoor festivals. We have made a huge investment in this production and have commitments to suppliers around the world. The organizer's inability to fulfill their financial obligations makes it impossible for MANOWAR to perform and deliver the production standards that MANOWAR fans know and expect.”
“We have the best fans in the world. Our fans do not fear cancellations; on the contrary: they know that it is proof of our respect for them and for the show they deserve, and an expression of our loyalty in response to their loyalty to us,” said Joey DeMaio. “We will never give up our commitment to deliver the best shows for the very best fans; one hundred percent or nothing.”
All those who purchased a ticket for Legacy Open Air to see MANOWAR are advised to contact the ticket outlets for an immediate full refund.
The “Kings Of Metal MMXIV” world tour will continue in Europe starting March 18, 2014, and MANOWAR will return to Germany in January 2015 with 3 indoor shows in Essen (January 14, 2015), Munich (January 15, 2015), and Frankfurt (January 17, 2015).
The festival organizers have also spoken out via Facebook:
Dear Legacy Open Air fans, Manowar informed us today that they will not be playing at Legacy Open Air 2014. We are very shocked and saddened that we cannot present this band to you. We are currently working on continuing the festival and will provide a detailed statement as soon as possible. Your Legacy organization team
