Neko Case is truly no stranger anymore. With her current album, which bears the catchy title "The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You", she has not only convinced critics but also - and probably more importantly - the fans. Alternative Americana? Singer-Songwriter? Indie Rock? The musical boundaries are fluid.

Voices on the new album:
Brigitte (08/2013)
"In truth, this is just another category that Case occasionally draws from – she can also package rock, pop, and complex inner views into sounds. This has earned the American a Grammy nomination and her last album reached number 3 on the US charts. Her new work ?The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You' (Indigo) is as complicated as its title. But worth it.”
Jazz Thing (09/2013)
"With nasal twang sounds or smacking rock guitars, acoustic string tones, playful pop figures, and sometimes solo, the former Americana siren seems to be unveiling psychedelic sides now – as the worm-like title already suggests.”
Kulturnews (09/2013)
"One can hardly believe how good ?The Worse Things Get...’ [...] has become.”
Musikexpress (10/2013)
"Cuddly is nothing on this album, confrontational everything, including the congenial remake of Nico's ?Afraid“.”
Rolling Stone (09/2013) (4 stars)
"Pop art pieces from an astonishing woman who can do it all.”
Tip (09/2013)
"The result sounds as if she emerges as a master over the inner demons.”
Visions (09/2013)
"...The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You is the best long album title of 2013 (Touché Amoré also doesn't bother anymore), the determined folk-indie rock can also do something.”
