Every three years in spring, master ERIC CLAPTON organizes his legendary CROSSROADS GUITAR FESTIVAL. This also happened last spring in New York City, where he successfully assembled a lineup of the most celebrated guitarists on the planet for the fourth time. While previous CROSSROADS events mostly took place outdoors, he moved this year's event indoors, to "The World's Most Famous Arena," Madison Square Garden. For two nights, the venue vibrated with epic guitar virtuosity, and the highlights are now available on CROSSROAD FESTIVAL 2013.
Since 2004, the CROSSROADS GUITAR FESTIVAL has been regarded as "the" ultimate guitar concert event, where the best guitarists in the world come together to raise funds for the treatment and education center Crossroads Centre in Antigua. The institute was founded in 1998 by ERIC CLAPTON to help people free themselves from chemical dependencies.
This year, the lineup was correspondingly star-studded: CLAPTON himself, The Allman Brothers Band, Blake Mills, Buddy Guy, Derek Trucks, Doyle Bramhall II, Gary Clark Jr., Jeff Beck, John Mayer, Keith Richards, Keith Urban, Los Lobos, Robert Cray, Sonny Landreth, Steve Cropper, Vince Gill, Warren Haynes, and many others.
CROSSROADS GUITAR FESTIVAL 2013 will be released on two BluRay discs and DVDs, offering fans nearly five hours of music with 45 tracks, as well as conversations with the artists and additional behind-the-scenes footage from the concert. For the first time, the audio highlights will also be available as a CD and for digital download with a total of 32 tracks. All formats will be released on November 15, 2013.
