BLAGRESI - Hvad Ef Himininn Brotnar
Country Folk from Iceland featuring Daniel from Arstidir on guitar.
Blagresi (which can stand for woodland geranium – but is meant to be "Bla" for "Blue" and "Gresi" or "Grass") is a young band from Iceland.
The most well-known member is probably Daniel Audunsson from ARSTIDIR.
In their Nordic dreamy Country / Bluegrass style, they set poems by the Icelandic author Einar Mar Gudmundsson to music, who was awarded the Nordic Prize 2012 by the Swedish Academy, among other accolades.
Einar is also very politically engaged. During the financial crisis of 2008 and the near bankruptcy of Iceland, the writer sharply criticized the responsible politicians.
Blagresi consists of:
Tinna Marina Jonsdottir - vocals
Daniel Audunsson - acoustic guitar and vocals
Leifur Björnsson - acoustic and electric guitar, piano,
Hammond organ and vocals
