BOY are venturing into international waters in 2013. In March, the musicians thrilled audiences in the USA with a series of concerts as a 3-piece. The New York Times wrote after the concert there: "BOY writes and sings tuneful, friendly, forthright pop-folk songs about life and relationships ... cradled by melodies with a comfortable lilt and by Ms. Steiner’s sweet, unfailingly precise lead vocals…”
They continue at full speed. In August, the duo played four concerts in Osaka and Tokyo with a band – here too, their debut album “Mutual Friends” received countless accolades. The single “Little Numbers” took Japanese radio by storm and held the No #1 spot on the (domestic and international) Mainstream Airplay Charts for weeks in June.
In October, they return to the USA and Canada – this time with a full lineup. The tour includes 19 dates and takes the band to New York, Chicago, Toronto, and Portland, among others. But the sound wave of the duo does not stop here. The pop-folk rhythms of the musicians are also spreading in South America. For instance, “Little Numbers” was among the “Single of the Week” on iTunes Brazil.
Despite their tight schedule, the duo is writing new songs and has already begun recording for their second album. The release date has not yet been set.
