Breaking traditions has always been at the top of FILTER's agenda. Ever since their self-produced debut "Short Bus" in 1995: a sharp production framed by slurred answering machine samples, heavy bass lines, and jagged guitar riffs, with virtuously programmed drum machines behind it all, and the unmistakable voice of Richard Patrick reigning supreme as the trademark. Patrick is undoubtedly FILTER's magnetic center, the musical core of the band, the quintessential frontman. The band's intelligent creative cell does not deny that his approach to music is rather unorthodox. He has always been interested in new technologies. This resonated with his new partner and guitarist Jonny Radtke, the little brother he never had, who plays like Slash and also made significant contributions to the songwriting. This can be heard on the new album "The Sun Comes Out Tonight." Explosive tracks featuring Patrick's typically captivating vocals, Radtke's melodic backing vocals, engaging choruses, hypnotic synthesizers, blazing guitars, angrily eerie riffs, and blast beats, biting lyrics, and the triumphant resurrection of the drum machines, whose pulsating rhythm allows FILTER to deliver intense live shows. The days of "Hey man, nice shot" are not over; they have changed. FILTER can only benefit from this – because live, the band from Cleveland is still a true powerhouse and does not shy away from anything.
