Fume: German for smoke, fumes, rage, froth - The three guys from Gothenburg live up to their name with their gritty garage punk! The Hives also see it this way, having personally chosen The Fume as the support act for their upcoming Scandinavian tour (dates below). Musically, it fits like a glove!
While the Hives pay homage to the 60s, the trio led by singer and songwriter Phillip Harrt prefers to indulge in the sounds of Slade, Bowie, Bolan & Roxy Music. Often slightly exaggerated and distorted in sound, it has punch and drive like we haven't heard in a long time.
Fans of the Eagles of Death Metal and Turbonegro will love The Fume. When asked about their influences, the band replies: "We always play under the influence." Their sound is spontaneous, raw, young, dynamic, deafening, and excessive.
The guys recently finished recording their first studio album, which will be released in May 2013 by Rookie Records.
