Lindsey Stirling – Violin & Dance with over 200 million YouTube clicks – now for the first time in Germany

Behind the violinist and choreographer Lindsey Stirling lies an extraordinary artist. With her breathtakingly unique blend of classical compositions, modern DubStep rhythms, and progressive dance performances, the 26-year-old has not only created her own genre. She also connects the depth of classical music and artistic dance performance with the lightness of modern pop and club music in a completely new way.

Lindsey Stirling grew up in modest circumstances in Gilbert, Arizona, where she attentively listened to her father's classical records as a child. At the age of five, she wished for a violin, but there was no money for lessons. Her second interest was modern dance, the technical basics of which she taught herself through instructional videos on the internet. Her overflowing enthusiasm eventually convinced her parents to invest in her artistic education. As a teenager, Lindsey began to experiment with her instrument outside of typical classical contexts. With her playing, which is as bold as it is controlled, expressive as it is smooth, Lindsey Stirling won numerous awards. In 2007, she established her own YouTube channel 'Lindseystomp', where she linked her powerful compositions between classical and DubStep with progressive dance and performance videos, most of which she directed herself and for which she created the choreography. Lindsey quickly developed into an internet phenomenon and one of the most viewed artists on YouTube: 'Lindseystomp' currently has over one million subscribers, and her videos have been clicked over 208 million times in total.

The debut album "Lindsey Stirling", released in September, reached number 1 on the US Dance charts and number 2 on the US Classical charts – a feat that no artist has achieved before. It will also be released in Germany in early February.

Between January 14 and 24, Lindsey will go on tour in Germany for the first time to present her mix of original compositions and interpretations of great rock hits to a live audience.
