It can already be said that Valeska Steiner and Sonja Glass of BOY can look back on an extremely eventful and successful time and have now established themselves as a fixed presence. Their debut work “Mutual Friends” entered the German sales charts at position #14 and even climbed into the Top 10 afterwards. Their first single “Little Numbers” became the summer hit of 2011 on the radio, and the accompanying video spread like wildfire worldwide on the internet - with today more than six and a half million views on YouTube.
BOY has been touring non-stop in Germany and neighboring countries for the last 2 years and is now celebrating their achieved success and the award! The album “Mutual Friends” was certified Gold in Germany after 14 months. Sonja and Valeska are overjoyed and celebrated this with their record label Grönland Records, the entire team, and their families on November 27th in Berlin at the place where the record contract was signed nearly 1 ½ years ago!
Lenz Hein (Label Manager Grönland Records) presented the awards together with Herbert Grönemeyer. Lenz Hein said, "We are very happy for Valeska and Sonja and feel extremely fortunate to have two such great musicians and wonderful people at our label and to continue to support them."
BOY is now preparing for their first USA tour in March 2013, which includes a stop at SXSW.
The BOY album will be released in the USA & Canada at the end of February.
