TARJA has managed to place her first rocky live solo album directly in the Top 10 of the German album charts.
The Nordic soprano filmed and recorded the show "Act I", available as a 2CD, 2DVD, and Blu-ray version, under the auspices of the Hamburg rock arm of Edel Germany GmbH, earMUSIC, in March of this year in Rosario, Argentina. As a result, she enters the longplay charts for the past sales week at # 5. In the DVD charts, the classically trained rocker even climbs to rank 2.
Even abroad, the northern light is succeeding: In Finland, the DVD even reaches the top position of the local DVD charts, in the Netherlands, "Act I" lands at # 4, in Belgium at 6, in Sweden at rank 8, and in neighboring Switzerland, the Finn smiles from position 2 of the DVD charts.
The artist herself thanks her loyal fans for their continuous support:
"I am deeply grateful to my loyal fans for always supporting me so much," says Turunen. "You make me damn proud to be this successful. I thank all fans from the bottom of my heart. You are always there for me - I want to always be there for you too."
Tarja Turunen, once the voice and face of the symphonic metal band Nightwish, has already positioned her first two solo albums "My Winterstorm" (2007) and "What Lies Beneath" (2010) in the Top 5 of the MediaControl longplay charts. ACT I is a cross-section of all musical Tarja stations to date and showcases the neat Finn in all her facets. An elaborate fan edition of Act I is set to serve all Tarja fans with the ultimate package soon. A glimpse of ACT I can be caught here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXtkh61Ew6Q.
Tarja is well known for her multiple talents: She tours successfully worldwide as a symphonic rock artist but also frequently embarks on tours with classical or Christmas ensembles. In December, the trained soprano will give some exquisite "Christmas shows" in Germany and Finland as a soloist with an ensemble (Tarja Turunen & Harus, her classical music ensemble, already released “Live At Sibelius Hall” via earMUSIC last year). Dates for this will be announced shortly. Interested parties can also stay informed via www.tarja-act1.com and www.tarjaturunen.com.
