The Bottrops have set an example with their successful initiative. Crowdfunding can be a way for artists to record their music. But organizers also seem to have recognized the advantages of this financing method. The Cold Insanity Festival wants to collect part of the costs before committing to actually hold the event. Tickets, live recordings, or T-shirts can already be purchased on the festival homepage. If the targeted amount of 2,400 euros is not raised by August 31, 2012, all pre-order customers will get their money back and the whole thing will be canceled.
