Dear Good Ones, help us release our new EP.
As you may have heard, we recorded a new EP at the beginning of January. We didn't go to a studio, but instead recorded with the help of our producer Bastian Hartmann in a house in the middle of nowhere in the Eifel. The main recording room was the house's sauna. It was by far the best recording time we've ever had. Photos from the week can be found in the gallery on our homepage.
We ended up with four new songs that are thematically based on the Paul Auster novel "The Music of Chance", and that's also the name of the new EP: THE MUSIC OF CHANCE. The new songs are called FIREMAN, PRIMES, THE WAILING WALL, and HEADLIGHTS. Together, the songs are just under 20 minutes long.
We really want to release these songs on vinyl, specifically in the absolute royal format - as 10" vinyl. And that's where you come in, because without your help, there will be no 10".
The costs of producing the 10" are something we can't manage on our own. Our wonderful labels Rookie and Midsummer are already supporting us financially, but there is still a shortfall of €1,000.00 for the production. An incredible amount of money for us that we can't raise on our own. We've done a few pre-order campaigns before that have worked really well, and that's why we want to try it again. We want to offer you the chance to pre-order our new 10". With your money, we can cover the production costs. Since €1,000.00 is a lot of money, we've come up with a total of eight options for you to help us reach this amount. We offer many nice things: We will cook for you, we will play concerts for you, we will produce limited screen prints, and so on, and so forth.
The EP is set to be released on 11.05.2012 - pre-orders can be made from now until 02.04.2012.
If we don't raise the €1,000.00, there will be no physical version (meaning no vinyl and no CD) of the EP. If we don't have enough money by 02.04., everyone who has already ordered will of course receive their money back 100%, as well as a free download of the entire EP.
If we reach the amount, all pre-orderers will receive their record by mail on time.
As soon as we have the first 25% of the money, there will be a thank-you gift: a first song from "The Music of Chance" will be available to listen to.
We hope you find the idea as cool as we do, because it can only work with your help. We know that we are asking a lot from you, as money is tight for everyone. Those who don't have money (or have no use for a 10" because they don't own a turntable) can still help us by sharing this call with their friends.
