The action sports series "Extreme Playgrounds" will be paused in 2012 for the time being. Due to the difficult
economic environment, organizing the events at the usual professional level can no longer be
guaranteed.
"I am very sorry for the fans, artists, and athletes. The Playgrounds have provided
unforgettable moments and sporting as well as musical highlights over the last five years," said managing director Lars-Oliver
Vogt from the organizer Nice Productions. "A big thank you goes to our long-standing partners Telekom, Sony
Ericsson, Xbox, and Monster Energy. Without the support of our partners, such an event series would have never
been possible. They have been significantly involved in the steadily growing success."
The series can look back on a success story that is unparalleled in the European action sports scene. More than 100,000 spectators in five years, 45 amazing concerts, and over 400 top athletes from the
international BMX, MTB, skate, and wakeboard scene have made the Playgrounds an experience time and again.
We will now work intensively in the coming months on a continuation of the Extreme Playgrounds under
a new flag to be able to offer action sports and festival feeling at the highest level again at the earliest possible date.
