BAUCHKLANG "Le Mans" EP available since 30.09.11
EP Info "Le Mans": With the new EP "Le Mans", Bauchklang presents for the first time a consistently club-compatible and minimalist variant of their sound aesthetic. The "Vocal Groove Project" already released two groundbreaking club tracks for them, "Create" and "Come Along" (from the album "Signs"), the previous year. With "Le Mans", Bauchklang shifts into an even higher gear. They continue to forgo instruments or electronic sound sources, swirling their virtuosic sounds, created solely with voice and mouth, against the hazy, damp club ceiling.
Bauchklang has consistently developed and perfected their puristic sound over the years. With three new, full-bodied grooving tracks, they now present organic electronic music that has never existed in this form before.
The basic idea for "Le Mans", the title track of their new EP, originated during the soundcheck at a French festival that took place in Le Mans in November of the previous year. Around the hook that was created there, which is reflected in the bass and the parallel vocal "synth sound", a precise, energy-filled minimal track is formed, which relies solely on 5 audio tracks. This approach proved effective throughout the entire studio production and ultimately also in the live implementation of the three new works.
"Berging" begins with a funky, minimal house groove, patiently built up by a rapidly flitting sound, until the phrase "You know it can be different!" tilts the track into another atmosphere. Pulsating, the track gradually intensifies with sixteenth-note hi-hats and offset percussive elements to ecstasy.
The third number in the bunch is the track "Afro Side Up". A hypnotic drum pattern is carried by a swaying voice in space delay and a rich bass line, spreading positive vibrations over the duration of four minutes and fourteen seconds, inviting enjoyment in endless loops just before sunrise.
The EP "Le Mans" was released digitally on 30.09.2011.
