Flogging Molly announce autumn tour 2011
- Nine dates of the Irish punk band in German-speaking countries
Flogging Molly have consistently and through hard work evolved from a small Irish punk band touring pubs in California to one of the most sought-after rock bands of our time. Over two million records sold, sold-out venues worldwide, performances on the main stages of major festivals like Rock Am Ring, Coachella, Hurricane, and Leeds/Reading, as well as tours alongside bands like the Foo Fighters, show that Flogging Molly have now reached the top.
In 2011, frontman Dave King and his band surpassed themselves once again: "Speed Of Darkness" (the first album on the band's own label Borstal Beat Records) stormed into the top chart regions worldwide (USA: #9, DE: #27, AT: #14) and generated enthusiasm among both fans and critics.
Thematically, "Speed Of Darkness" addresses the topic of the global economic crisis, written in its epicenters Dublin and Detroit, and recorded with successful producer Ryan Hewitt (Red Hot Chili Peppers). A milestone in the band's history and the most mature album of the Irish rock band so far!
After recent headlining performances at Europe's largest festivals like Highfield and Nova Rock, Flogging Molly now announce their headlining tour for November 2011.
