Within Temptation play a unique concert: "The First Challenge"
With this highlight of the festival summer 2011, Within Temptation return to the stage after the maternity leave of their singer Sharon den Adel. The long-awaited return of the band will take place on August 12, just ten kilometers from the German border in Ulft, Netherlands.
Praised by the British rock press (Kerrang!) with the quote "The Greatest Show On Earth" for their live qualities, the bar is set high for "The First Challenge". Within Temptation see this as a challenge and will present themselves with a brand new stage aesthetic, bringing the story of their concept album "The Unforgiving" to life. The entire concept album will be performed in the order of the CD. The specially written comic and the produced short films will make "The First Challenge" a unique rock show with a breathtaking visual mix of stage design, video projections, and sophisticated pyrotechnic effects. In the second part of the over two-hour performance, Within Temptation will present their greatest hits and cult songs from 15 years of band history.
Sharon den Adel has already begun to prepare intensively for this concert event just a few weeks after the birth of her son. In a video message on their band portal www.within-temptation.com, she presents herself while jogging and announces "The First Challenge" as well as her preparatory fitness program. It becomes clear how much she personally looks forward to returning to the festival stage to enchant her audience with her voice and extravagant stage outfits.
With a large supporting program, "The First Challenge" on August 12 in Ulft (NL) will become a Within Temptation happening of a special kind. In addition to an aftershow party with a DJ set, there will be a signing session and a photo shoot with the racing car driven by guitarist Robert Westerholt in the "Unforgiving" design, as well as a film documentation of the event that fans can participate in.
For "The First Challenge", Within Temptation fans from all over the world are expected. The festival grounds in Ulft are within reach of various international airports such as Düsseldorf, Cologne, Brussels, and Amsterdam. The airport in Weeze, just 60 kilometers away, is served by various low-cost airlines from all over Europe. From Germany, Ulft can be reached in just a few minutes via the A3 towards Arnhem.
After the band successfully placed their concept album "The Unforgiving" in the top ten in twelve countries in Europe just in April, exceptional singer Sharon den Adel and her band want to thank their steadily growing fanbase with a spectacular event for the success of the new album.
