The punk rock band Radio Havanna once again makes a strong impression
and releases today an "All-Star Band"
benefit song that packs a punch:

Together with former Pennywise frontman Jim Lindberg, whose new band
The Black Pacific, as well as the Riverboat Gamblers, the Berlin
punk rockers entered the Daily Hero Studio last autumn and
recorded an old Operation Ivy classic ("Knowledge") for the benefit of the Skate-Aid foundation.

In choosing the song, the four Berliners opted for an old classic:
"Knowledge" is the old skate anthem from the 90s,
which encourages people to get off their butts and make necessary
changes. A message that Radio Havanna and all their
affiliated bands want to bring back into public consciousness.
Skate punk icon Jim Lindberg (Pennywise), The Black Pacific, and the
US garage punks The Riverboat Gamblers were eager to support Radio Havanna during the recordings.

“Standing in a studio with Jim Lindberg was a dream come true for us,”
says Radio Havanna singer Fichte. “When we told Jim about Skate Aid
and our idea, he was immediately enthusiastic. It’s even more
wonderful that two other great bands, The Black Pacific (Side One Dummy Records) and
The Riverboat Gamblers (Volcom Entertainment), are featured on the song. You can hear how much fun
we had together in the studio during the recordings.”

Skate-aid (www.skate-aid.org) is the project of the German
skateboarding legend Titus Dittmann, which provides humanitarian aid
to children and young people in crisis areas through skateboarding.
They focus on building recreational facilities, giving away
skateboards, offering workshops, and fully relying on the identity-forming
impact of skateboarding.
Every download of the song on iTunes, Amazon, and Musicload supports
the good cause.

Additionally, the skateboard company Bleed Clothing supports the
initiative and has specially produced a T-shirt for Radio Havanna and Skate-Aid. Each shirt also includes a download code for the
benefit song, ensuring that 1 Euro per sold shirt goes to skate-aid.

The digital distributor REBEAT from Austria was also excited about Radio
Havanna's idea and is exclusively handling the distribution and
marketing of the song in over 300 download shops worldwide. Like all
other participants, REBEAT also waived their usual
fees.
