LISBEE STAINTON is a classic singer/songwriter and an absolute exceptional artist.
The new album by the young Brit, "Girl On An Unmade Bed", was produced by Rupert Christie (among others U2, Green Day, Lou Reed, Echo And The Bunnymen) and is a completely self-composed, fragile yet extremely intense lesson on how to tell deep and honest little stories with the simplest instrumentation (especially Lisbee and her eight-string guitar) and without a safety net, radiating an effortless buoyancy while still getting under your skin.
Through performances with, among others, Joan Armatrading, LISBEE has also earned very positive responses here in Germany.
And this is what the British colleagues say:
-Bound for glory...an exquisite slice of traditional songwriting - THE TIMES
-Impressive - THE DAILY EXPRESS
-She's currently the darling of Radio 2 and BBC 6music, and it's easy to hear why - THE SUNDAY EXPRESS
-Lisbee's appeal is clear: slowly revolving rhythms, wistful English melancholy with a soul undertow, and a sweet folk-pop voice. – MOJO
-This album is a stunner - CLASSIC ROCK SOCIETY MAGAZINE
-Cultured folk pop - THE INDEPENDENT ON SUNDAY
-Lisbee Stainton's sun-kissed guitar pop made a rainy night in Soho feel like a sunny Glasto afternoon.' - Andy Jones, THE LONDONPAPER
