X-Berg for Haiti on 4.2.2010 at SO36
The natural disaster has severely affected the Third World country Haiti, which was in no way prepared for such a scale of deaths and injuries.
Now it is up to us to act and help the victims of the earthquake by all means. Because who has the resources, if not us?
“X-Berg for Haiti" is a privately organized charity event, funded by Kreuzberg restaurateurs and retailers through fundraising and sponsorships. Kreuzberg is thus showing its colors as an alternative district.
On 04.02., as many generous music lovers as possible are expected to come together at SO36 for a colorful music program featuring many Berlin bands for a good cause.
Since every cent counts, the organizers want to ensure that the money reaches where it belongs.
Therefore, the proceeds from the concert will not be donated to a mass organization, but to the Berlin organization "HaitiCare e.V.", which has been working in Haiti for 20 years and specifically takes care of the initial care of 200 school children and their families on-site.
The bands and organizers waive fees and wages so that as much as possible can be raised for the good cause. The donations and sponsorships from Kreuzberg shops cover the concert's self-costs, and the entire 10 euros admission goes directly to those in need.
It starts at 19:00 with seven Kreuzberg favorite bands.
