Billboard reports that previously unknown recordings of JOE STRUMMER have surfaced in the estate of the late musician. According to STRUMMER's companion Martin Slattery, the tapes contain older material that the musician recorded at home several years ago. While not everything has been evaluated yet, these are not completely new songs; many ideas were contributed by STRUMMER during the recordings for "Streetcore" by JOE STRUMMER & THE MESCALEROS.
What will become of the recordings is still completely open. The same applies to previously unreleased songs by THE CLASH and live recordings of JOE STRUMMER & THE MESCALEROS, which are located in the Hellcat Records archive.
