Der Supermarktkette Wal-Mart droht in den USA wegen einer CD der Nu-Metal Band Evanescence nun gehöriger Ärger. Nachdem den Eltern einer 13jährigen im US Bundesstaat Maryland zu Ohren kam, daß auf dem Album "Anywhere But Home" das Wort "Fuck" zu hören ist, beauftragten sie ihren Anwalt den Verkauf stoppen zu lassen. Der aufgebrachte Vater äußerte sich zu diesem Fall mit den Worten: "Sie muss aus den Regalen entfernt werden, um zu verhindern, daß Kinder das hören". Zudem möchte er für jeden Käufer der CD 74.500 Dollar (ca. 62.000 Euro) Schadenersatz erstreiten. Auch die Plattenfirma BMG Entertainment, die diese CD veröffentlichte soll vor Gericht gezogen werden.
Wal-Mart unterhält extra eine eigene Abteilung zur Prüfung der Produktsauberkeit. Diese soll nach offiziellen Angaben aber nichts vom Vorkommen dieses Wortes im Text des Liedes "Thoughtless" (Gedankenlos) gewußt haben, ein Warnaufkleber auf der CD-Hülle fehle. Das versuchen die Kläger damit zu widerlegen, daß bei einer kostenlosen Hörprobe auf der Wal-Mart Homepage dieses Wort eben doch zensiert sei. Wal-Mart selbst beabsichtigt derzeit nicht, die CD aus dem Sortiment zu nehmen.
