After the cancellation of the Sucks'n'Summer Festival due to the tragic death of the responsible organizer was already a few months ago, an official statement regarding ticket refunds is now being issued. Refunds will not be possible; those who purchased their tickets in advance will be left with them. Questions remain about what has happened to the collected money and why, despite the benefit events, there are not enough funds available to reimburse those who insist on a refund. After all, this should only concern a very small percentage of the tickets sold. It also seems extremely strange that those considering legal action are openly threatened instead of striving for an amicable resolution for all parties involved.
We, the Sucks´n´Summer Crew, would like to address you with an official statement on the topic of "ticket refunds" and apologize in advance for the long wait for a statement.
Unfortunately, we must inform you that there will be no refunds for the tickets.
For better understanding, we will explain to you why there are no refunds.
On June 5th, Ben Heil, the organizer of the Sucks´n´Summer Festival, passed away. The General Terms and Conditions name the organizer as: Stage Company / Owner: Ben Heil / Altleisnig 1, 047003 Bockelwitz. The Stage Company was a sole proprietorship, meaning all responsibility (contracts, financial transactions, etc.) regarding the festival lay with Ben Heil.
As a crew, we have supported this festival for 10 years as friends and music enthusiasts without any compensation. This also applies in this very difficult and sad situation.
We have sought solutions to refund your tickets, even though we have no financial insight into the affairs of the Stage Company. We have come to realize that it was not the right approach to hastily publish a statement regarding the refunds. We did not want to leave you out in the rain. Efforts were made to raise part of the outstanding ticket costs through benefit concerts for the bereaved family. However, we unfortunately did not succeed.
Since some individuals have threatened to take legal action, we would like to point out the following. There is no legal heir who will cover this. If you choose this step, you will only incur unpleasant higher costs.
Finally, regarding the question: Will there be another Sucks´n´Summer Festival? It has become clear to us that we cannot simply continue without Benno, who lived the Sucks´n´Summer more than anyone else.
We, as a crew consisting of over 50 people, thank you for your patience, ask for your understanding regarding the late explanation, and hope that you, like us, keep the Sucks´n´Summer in your hearts.
