Due to a quote from the Ärzte song "Deine Schuld", the Junge Union now has to take responsibility. In a flyer from the youth organization of the Moers CDU, the excerpt "It’s not your fault that the world is the way it is. It would only be your fault if it stays that way" was included. Sebastian Kempken, chairman of the JU Moers, commented on the accusation:
Die Ärzte were not very pleased with this attempt to misuse them as advertising agents for the Christian Democratic Party. Their fans would surely be very surprised by a collaboration between the band and the party. To prevent such rumors from even arising, they have directly obtained a temporary injunction against the copyright infringement of their lyrics.
We want to reach the young people of Moers with words they can identify with. We are particularly looking to engage in conversation with those who think differently about our ideas and would have set aside a CDU letter - without the quote - unread.
