On their debut album “Die Schönheit des Scheiterns” (Pauli Punker Records), released in April 2026, TORPEDO MAYER still relied on uncompromising brevity: short paths, clear ideas, and untamed rock’n’roll without any frills. With their latest release, the Rhineland quartet consciously breaks with its own principles – sending a song on a prolonged journey.
For their new release, TORPEDO MAYER opts for a format that is rather atypical in punk rock: the 12" maxi-single. On the A-side, the band transforms the album track “Alles Gold” into a demanding piece lasting 7 minutes and 13 seconds. The band uses this length to fully unleash the sound between punk, garage, power pop, beat, soul, and rock’n’roll. From everyday absurdity, pure energy for the dance floor emerges here.
The B-side serves as an uninhibited night walk through the TORPEDO MAYER universe, capturing four different states of a shared night out:
- Dance Floor: The sprawling A-side “Alles Gold 7:13”
- Electro: A remix of the title track by the producer duo Kollektiv Sheesh (Vienna/Cologne)
- Club: A live recording of the song “Ich komm nicht in den Klub,” recorded in the fall of 2025 during the band’s tour in Argentina in Rosario
- Disco: The brand new song “Disco neben dem Pissklo”
