A loud new addition to Audiolith: The hardcore punk band NOWAR is making a strong comeback. Their new single "Right Here Right Now" along with the official music video is now available online. The track not only sets the direction but also announces the eponymous album, which will be released on December 4, 2026, on vinyl, CD, and digitally through Audiolith.
The Spirit of 90s Northcore: Hardness with Attitude
Musically, NOWAR consistently connects to the uncompromising energy of 90s hardcore. References to bands like Loxiran, Escapado, Snapcase, Strife, or Earth Crisis are unmistakably present. Jagged grooves, powerful halftime mosh parts, and an urgent vocal delivery shape the band's sound. NOWAR continues the legendary "Northcore" spirit – true to the understanding that musical hardness without a clear stance is ultimately just sport.
Clear Stance Against Right-Wing Populism
Content-wise, NOWAR does not settle for hollow phrases. The lyrics combine personal experiences with a clear stance against social injustices, war, police violence, and the rise of right-wing forces. "Right Here Right Now" is by no means a nostalgic flashback, but translates DIY morals, anger, empathy, and a strong sense of community directly into the here and now.
Founded in 2018, the band released their debut album "Don’t Lie" through Last Exit Music in 2021 after an initial demo (2019). With the switch to Audiolith, NOWAR is now opening the next chapter.
