JERA ON AIR
THE FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHT RIGHT BEHIND THE BORDER - FIRST WAVE OF BANDS FOR 2027!
LORNA SHORE, DROPKICK MURPHYS, SIMPLE PLAN, THE INTERRUPTERS AND OTHER TOP ACTS CONFIRMED FOR SUMMER!
While the last memories of a scorching hot edition of Jera On Air are still fresh in mind, the anticipation for summer 2027 is already building in Ysselsteyn. From Thursday, June 24, to Saturday, June 26, the northern Limburg village will once again transform into the undeniable center of punk, hardcore, metalcore, and everything musically related. With Lorna Shore and Dropkick Murphys as the first headliners on the lineup, the tone for the 33rd edition is immediately set. We will also see Simple Plan, The Interrupters, Jinjer, and Grandson among others on the festival grounds in Ysselsteyn at the end of June.
That Jera On Air impresses not only musically but also organizationally was evident earlier this week. The festival was awarded "Most Engaged Festival of the Year 2026" by Festileaks. A nice recognition after an edition that took place under extraordinary circumstances. With temperatures reaching nearly 40 degrees, Jera On Air went down in history as the hottest edition ever. Thanks to numerous measures, the organizers managed to carry out the festival as safely as possible. Successfully. However, they didn't dwell on it for long, as the focus quickly shifted back to Jera On Air 2027.
In addition to the two headliners and the already mentioned highlights, Blood For Blood, Bodysnatcher, Comeback Kid, Drain, Fit For A King, From Ashes To New, Guilt Trip, John Coffey, Kanonenfieber, Locked Shut, Ratboy, Restraining Order, Speed, Static-X, and Terminal Sleep are also featured on the first festival poster. Over twenty names that immediately make it clear that there will be something for every lover of harder and alternative music to experience next summer.
OVERWHELMING AND SURPRISING
With Lorna Shore, Jera On Air is bringing one of the most impressive names in the current heavy metal scene to Ysselsteyn. The Americans blend deathcore, metalcore, and numerous other influences into a sound that can be both overwhelming and surprisingly melodic. Under the leadership of frontman Will Ramos, the band has become a global favorite over the last decade.
THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN
Do the Dropkick Murphys even need an introduction? The Americans have been a fixture on the biggest stages in the world since 1996. Their unique mix of hard-hitting and infectious punk rock, hardcore, and traditional Irish folk music has produced classics like "I'm Shipping Up to Boston," "Rose Tattoo," and "The State of Massachusetts." With a variety of instruments, combative lyrics, and a hefty dose of working-class mentality, the guys manage to turn any festival ground into one big, dancing, singing crowd in no time. In 2027, The Boys are back in Ysselsteyn. And that promises, as always, trouble.
HIT MACHINE
Anyone who hears "I'd Do Anything," "Welcome to My Life," "Perfect," and "I'm Just a Kid" probably knows immediately where this is headed. Simple Plan is returning to Europe! The Canadian hit machine will headline a bubbling Wembley Stadium in London as part of their own anniversary tour in just a few days, but next summer at Jera On Air, they will undoubtedly throw a party that can easily match the atmosphere in this English pop temple. After all, these pop-punks have been effortlessly rocking every festival ground for 25 years.
SKA, METAL, AND DIVERSITY
There will always be captivating ska-punk, and The Interrupters are the best proof of that. The band from Los Angeles, led by singer Aimee Interrupter, combines fast-paced riffs with irresistible melodies and a live show where standing still is simply not an option. After touring with Rancid, blink-182, and Bad Religion, we will see them next year in Ysselsteyn for their first Dutch festival appearance since 2024, when the band performed at Pinkpop.
Jinjer has also built up a massive fan base by now. What started in the Ukrainian underground scene has developed into a world-renowned band with around 300 million streams on Spotify. The band combines progressive groove metal with technical finesse and enormous dynamics, with frontwoman Tatiana Shmayluk seamlessly switching between whisper-quiet passages and devastating screams.
This versatility also applies to Grandson. The American-Canadian artist Jordan Edward Benjamin combines rock, rap, punk, and electronic influences with lyrics that address capitalism, war, and climate change, among other topics. He made his international breakthrough with the single "Blood // Water," which has now recorded nearly 1 billion streams, making it nothing less than a worldwide hit; last year he performed at Pinkpop and Lowlands, among others. Grandson is hard to pigeonhole and brings a lot of energy to Ysselsteyn.
A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING!
This is just a fraction of the first round of announcements. From the hardcore of Blood For Blood, Comeback Kid, and Guilt Trip to the modern metal of Bodysnatcher, Fit For A King, and Kanonenfieber, to the quirky rock of Static-X, John Coffey, From Ashes To New, and Rat Boy: The first names promise a musically broad spectrum. Drain, Speed, Terminal Sleep, Restraining Order, and Locked Shut also ensure that there will soon be plenty to discover, mosh, jump, and sing along to in Ysselsteyn.
With these first twenty names, the excitement for Jera On Air 2027 is officially picking up speed. Those who experienced the last edition in tropical temperatures know by now: At Jera On Air, anything is possible.
