With "Kleine Schritte," Hinterlandgang have not only released a new song but also announced the EP of the same name, which will be released on October 23. The title track tells an uplifting story about bullying, emotional fears, and the path to a self-determined life – it was produced by the Chaos Compressor Club.
Albert and Pablo have become an important voice for young people in the East in recent years. Their last album "Vielleicht wird alles gut" entered the German album charts at number 7, and with the 100 Tage Sommer Open Air in Demmin, they have established themselves as a solid presence beyond just band work.
However, the two are not keen on large marketing campaigns – they continue to take small steps, as the EP title suggests. But being cautious does not mean being timid: on the new EP, Hinterlandgang clearly positions themselves against the AfD, stating unequivocally in the song "Keine Mitläufer": "AfD is mainstream but we are not followers."
Overall, "Kleine Schritte" combines powerful and tender songs into a coherent whole, living from the different perspectives of two long-time friends – with a language that resonates precisely because of its simplicity and emotional directness. From the title track: "You can be angry, you can freak out, you can take care of yourself."
Until the EP release, Hinterlandgang will be quite active. First on the "Tour de Ost" through the Northeast, then in winter with the "Keine Mitläufer" tour across Germany and into Switzerland, followed by more dates until March 2027 – including in Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, and Rostock.
