The Swiss progressive rock band PRISMA is making a comeback and opening a completely new chapter: On October 10, 2026, their self-titled new album "Prisma" will be released, featuring the band’s first complete set of lyrics in German.
Around guitarist and mastermind Valentin Grendelmeier, the trio serves up seven powerful tracks that musically connect to their usual uncompromising, atmospheric sound with noticeable Tool influences. The most striking innovation comes from frontman Michael Luginbühl, who delivers his profound lyrics this time in German—underscored by the usual brutal riffs and the precise drumming of Andreas Wettstein. A first impression of the new sound is provided by the advance single "Aether."
However, the comeback also brings a personnel change: After many years together, bassist Marc Müllhaupt has left the band. PRISMA will continue as a trio for now; who will take over the bass position in the future is still open.
